You’re a student who’s getting ready to switch schools or you’re a grad student trying to find out which colleges are best for you to apply to and which country would suit you most, then this study, recently conducted by QS, has compiled a ranking of college cities throughout the world to make this ranking.

Important To Consider

Cost

Cost is definitely something we all consider when choosing one lifestyle over another. Living in a University dorm is usually more expensive and less pleasant than off-campus housing, depending on the city where you’ll be relocating too. If you’re moving to London for example, it is cheaper to be in a residence due to high real estate costs, whereas smaller cities offer more affordable apartment rentals that are within campus proximity. If you’re on a budget (most of us are), it’s a good idea to compare options. Note that if you’re contemplating taking apartment rental on your own or sharing with fellow students, you’ll need furniture, kitchen appliances and all the necessary extras such as cable, internet, telephone, heat and hydro.

Location

Location is extremely important. Living in a dorm, on campus, means that everything is convenient, from your classrooms to the library to the school store. Commuting won’t be an issue, which can save you time and money. If living off-campus means that you’ll have a long commute, you should factor this into your decision, particularly if you have early morning or night classes or if you plan on studying at the library until late. Check out the cost of commuting, both time and financially and factor this into your decision.

Profile

If you know you’re not meant for dorm life; If you like things quiet and there are times where you just need your own space. A dorm won’t work for you. Students who live in a dorm, appreciate the environment a dorm offers for making friends easily, the social scene and the networking opportunity that happens over the course of the school year.
